Siding is a rain screen. What is behind it — house wrap and flashing — decides whether the walls stay dry.

Siding reaches the end of its life with warping, cracking, fading, loose panels or soft spots behind it. Replacing it is also the chance to fix what water has done to the sheathing.
We remove the old siding, inspect and repair the sheathing, install a weather-resistant barrier, flash every window, door and penetration, and then install the new siding to the manufacturer's requirements.
You choose the material, profile and color; we explain the upkeep and lifespan of each.

Siding Replacement guide
A new exterior is a big decision. This is how a replacement job works, what drives the price and what to watch for when you compare quotes.
A proper replacement means more than new panels: old siding is removed, the sheathing is inspected and any damaged wood repaired, a weather-resistant barrier goes on, every window, door and penetration is flashed, and then the new siding and trim are installed to the manufacturer's requirements. The site is cleaned daily and we finish with a walk-through with you.
Home size and number of stories, the material and profile you choose, the condition of the sheathing under the old siding, how much trim, fascia and soffit is involved, and how complicated the walls are (gables, dormers, bump-outs). We give free estimates and put the price in writing before work starts.
A typical home takes about one to two weeks. Weather, material availability and how much hidden repair the old wall needs can move that up or down. We tell you the expected schedule with your written estimate.
Vinyl is the value and low-upkeep choice, fiber cement is the durable, fire-resistant and paintable choice, and engineered wood gives a wood look with better resistance to moisture and insects. We explain the upkeep and lifespan of each so you can choose for your budget and your home.
Requirements for exterior work vary by city, county and homeowners association. If your community has rules on colors or materials, check them before you choose, and ask us what documentation to bring. We will explain what is typically needed when you call.
Siding over wet or rotted sheathing, skipping the house wrap, relying on caulk instead of flashing, and choosing a quote only on price. Any of these can trap moisture in the wall, which is exactly what new siding is supposed to prevent.

Many homes take one to two weeks, depending on size and material.
It is sometimes done, but removing the old siding lets damage be found and fixed and the weather barrier replaced.
Insulated siding and a good weather barrier can help reduce drafts and heat loss.
Vinyl and fiber cement commonly last several decades with basic care.
It depends on where you live. Some cities and counties require a permit for exterior work and some homeowners associations require approval of colors and materials. Check with your local building department and HOA before work starts, and ask us if you are unsure what to look for.
We remove the old siding first. That lets us inspect and repair the sheathing, install a proper weather barrier and flash the openings, none of which can be done well over existing siding.
Siding can be installed for much of the year. Extreme cold makes vinyl brittle to handle and affects caulk and paint, and heavy rain slows the work, so we schedule around the weather and tell you what to expect.
It can help. A continuous weather barrier reduces air leaks, and insulated vinyl adds some thermal value. Results vary with the home, so we do not promise a specific saving.
